OUR COUNTRY'S HISTORYDiscover where history happened to understand how history happened

Nystromís Exploring Where & Why, Grade 5

Spark inquiry with an engaging experience on a journey in time through American history. By placing historical events where they happened and providing authentic visualizations and context-setting text, fifth graders are able to clearly imagine and understand social studies. This complete core curriculum includes solutions for all ages and learning styles so every student can succeed.

Our Country's History poses questions to students to gather their thoughts rather than feeding them answers. Engaging components such as raised-relief maps and activity globes make social studies interactive and help students to see where history happened and how it connects people and places. A companion library of trade books and activities reinforces literacy while involving students in relevant topics. A Spanish-language version of this program is also available.
